SIGHT TESTS
We pride ourselves on taking time with each individual patient which is why we have longer than the average sight test times of 30 minutes. This gives the optometrists time to thoroughly check your eyes and then answer any queries you may have.
One of our qualified optometrists will check the health of your eyes and check for any eye conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts. If the optician does pick up any symptoms of these conditions they will assess you and potentially refer you on.
The optician will also check your vision to see if there has been a change in your prescription. They will then advise you if you do or do not need glasses and pass you on to a member of the dispensing team who will be able to advise on the types of lens that would work best for you.
We provide NHS, private and children’s sight tests. If you are unsure as to whether you qualify for a free NHS sight test please visit:
Both of these tests are available during your sight test. They can identify common conditions such as macular degeneration and glaucoma as they capture images and cross-sectional scans of the eye. This gives the optomestrist lots more information about the health of your eyes.
For more information on the OCT scan and the conditions it can identify, please see this link.
CONTACT LENS CHECK
We provide a range of contact lens services to suit your individual needs. One of these services is the contact lens direct debit scheme where you can pay for your lenses monthly and they will be delivered to your door. We can offer a range of contact lens types including: daily disposables, fortnightly lenses, monthly lenses, gas permeable and multifocal. The optometrist will be able to advise you on which would best suit your lifestyle needs. If you are considering trying contact lenses for the first time you can do so with a free contact lens trial making sure that the lenses work for you before you make a decision.
If you are a contact lens wearer it is vital to have a contact lens check once a year so that the optometrist can check the health of your eyes and that the type of contact lenses you are using are still suitable.
