Clare Gurney (Dispensing Optician and Practice Owner):
Clare joined the practice in 1995 and qualified as a dispensing optician in 2000 at Bradford University. Since then she has continued running the practice after her father Jim Dewhurst retired in 2009. In her spare time Clare enjoys walking and climbing in the peak district and spending time with her family.
Jean Lawrowitsch (Optometrist):
Jean qualified in 1983 from Cardiff University. She joined the practice in June 2016 and works Mondays and Thursdays. Jean is accredited for cataract referral and minor eye conditions. In her spare time Jean volunteers with a Guiding group where she helps run activities and organises camping trips and holidays. Jean is also the chair of the Stockport Trefoil Guild and the President of Girlguiding Stockport.
Amanda Stone (Optometrist):
Qualified in 1994 from The University of Manchester and joined the practice in May 2011. Her working days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. She is accredited for cataract referral and minor eye conditions. Amanda spends her free time with her three children enjoying family days out together.
Caitlin Gurney (Dispensing Optician):
Caitlin joined the practice as a receptionist in 2016. Since then she decided to further her career in optics so in January 2018 she began her full time, three year distance learning degree in dispensing optics at Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge. Caitlin completed her degree in March 2021 and is now a qualified dispensing optician.
